11. I have made a complete installation of Eazy Eval Pro, and now there are shortcuts to two different applications. What are they ?



Every copy of Eazy Eval is supplied with two components,

1. The full-fledged control center package - This module or component gives authenticated users, access to the full features of Eazy Eval, which includes access to Question Bank, Question paper generator and Exam Center modules. This is a package from, which you can maintain details about users, candidates, subjects, questions, exams, results etc.

2. The Exam module only version - This module let’s candidates take exams scheduled to them by administrators. This module is excellent if you want to install only the bare minimum needed module on machines set aside for candidates.

When a complete installation of EazyEval is made, the installer creates shortcuts to both these applications.

12. Why should I setup a Database server for Eazy Eval Pro to work?



The Eazy Eval Pro can be used in an networked environment and has the ability to segragate the view of information from multiple users. This is accomplished by a centralized storage of data and permission based access to the information. For this a database server is required.

13. How do I setup a Database Server for Eazy Eval Pro in my network?



Eazy Eval Pro uses PostgreSQL as the backend database server. Detailed Information on installing PostgreSQL is provided with the Eazy Eval Help System (Which can be accessed from here). However some key points that are to be noted while doing a PostgreSQL Installation on a Windows server are given here :

1. Make sure that you have an NTFS partition ready on the server before doing the installtion.

2. During PostgreSQL Installation, you are required to provide 2 sets of Username and Password. The first set is the credentials for the PostgreSQL, Operating System level account which is needed for the operation of the PostgreSQL Server. The second set of username and password is the account details needed by the user for logging into the PostgreSQL server. The second set of login details should be provided at the database configuration screen of the Eazy Eval Pro for creating an active connection.

3. Another important thing to remember while installing PostgreSQL for Eazy Eval on you network are to ensure that Port Number is ‘5432’ is selected as the PostgreSQL Listening Port and the "Accept connections on all addressess" is selected. Both of these are very important for the functioning of Eazy Eval.

4. After the Installation of PostgreSQL for Windows is finished, a Tool named "PGWinNWFix.exe" found in the Tools Directory of Eazy Eval Installation directory is to be executed in order to configure the machine to accept Remote connections. This is needed in order for the server to accept connections from Remote Front End tools of the Eazy Eval.
