Backup And Restore
This window, equips the user with the power of taking duplicate copies of existing information contained inside your Eazy Eval database. The window contains two different functionalities in the form of backup and restore.
How to backup the current database
Select the "Backup Database" radio button or press 'Alt + K' to view the Backup panel of this window.
The Backup Screen
In the Backup data textbox, type in a valid disk path to which a backup copy is to be made. You can also use the browse button to do this.
After providing a file name, press the "Backup" button to start the backup procedure. The backup will take a bit of time to complete, based on the amount of information contained inside the current database. When the backup procedure is completed a success message is shown.
How to Restore a database from a backup file
To perform a restore operation, select the "Restore Database" radio button or press 'Alt + S'.

Using the "Browse" button select the backup point file that you have previously created using the backup tool. While restoring a database on the backend server from a duplicate copy, two options are available.
- Restore to the current database - Here just point to the backup file from which you want to restore and press the "Restore" button. All the contents of the current database will be rewritten by the contents from the backup copy.
- Restore by creating a new database - Tick the "Create New Database" checkbox and fill in a name, with which you want to create the new database. Now press the "Restore" button. If you have the sufficient privileges for creating a new database on the backend, a new database with the name you provided is created with the data contained inside the backup that you have selected for the restore operation. Now using the database configuration window you can connect to the newly created database.
Note: Make sure that all the connections from any Eazy Eval systems across the network towards the database on which Backup or Restore are Performed are closed before doing these operations.
